【摘要】:Aswithanyacceleratedtest,theincreaseinrateofweatheringcomparedtoin-serviceexposureismaterialdependent.Resultsfromexposuresconductedtothispracticemayprovidegoodrankcorrelationtoresultsfromactualuseconditionsforonetypeofmaterialorproduct.Itshouldnotbeassumedthatthiswillbetrueforothermaterialsorproducts.Itisalwaysbesttoverifytheabilityofanacceleratedexposuretesttoproperlyrankthedurabilityofmaterialswithactualuseconditions.GuideG141providesinformationaboutusingrankcorrelation.Variationinresultsmaybeexpectedwhenoperatingconditionsarevariedwithintheacceptedlimitsofthispractice.Therefore,noreferenceshallbemadetoresultsfromtheuseofthispracticeunlessaccompaniedbyareportdetailingthespecificoperatingconditionsinconformancewithReportSection8.Thedurabilityofmaterialsinoutdoorusecanbeverydifferentdependingonthelocationoftheexposurebecauseofdifferencesinsolarradiation,moisture,heat,pollutants,andotherfactors.Therefore,itcannotbeassumedthatresultsfromexposureinasinglelocationwillbeusefulfordeterminingdurabilityrankingofmaterialsinadifferentlocation.Itisstronglyrecommendedthatatleastonecontrolmaterialbeexposedwitheachtest.Thecontrolmaterialshouldbeofsimilarcompositionandconstructionandbechosensothatitsfailuremodesarethesameasthatofthematerialbeingtested.Itispreferabletousetwocontrolmaterials,onewithrelativelygooddurability,andonewithrelativelypoordurability.Ifcontrolmaterialsareincludedaspartofthetest,theyshallbeusedforthepurposeofcomparingtheperformanceofthetestmaterialsrelativetothecontrols.1.1Thispracticecoversthebasicprinciplesandoperatingproceduresforusingoutdoorglass-coveredexposureapparatuswithaircirculation.Thispracticeislimitedtotheproceduresforobtaining,measuringandcontrollingconditionsofexposure.AnumberofexposureproceduresarelistedinAppendixX1;however,thispracticedoesnotspecifytheexposureconditionsbestsuitedforthematerialtobetested.1.2Fordirectweatheringexposures,refertoPracticeG7.Forexposuresbehindglasswithoutaircirculation,refertoPracticeG24.1.3Testspecimensareexposedtosolarradiationfilteredthroughglassunderpartiallycontrolledenvironmentaltestconditions.Differentglasstypesandoperatingparametersaredescribed.1.4SpecimenpreparationandevaluationoftheresultsarecoveredinASTMmethodsorspecificationsforspecificmaterials.MorespecificinformationfordeterminingthechangeinpropertiesafterexposureandreportingtheseresultsisdescribedinPracticesD5870,D2244andTestMethodD523.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
